LINCROFT: Royalty graces Brookdale Community College’s Lincroft campus as Shakespeare’s witty early comedy, “Love’s Labor’s Lost,” comes to the Great Lawn. Bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets (rain site: Performing Arts Center). The performance begins at 7 p.m. Park in lot 2. Lawn outside PAC building/Newman Springs Road/Route 520.
RED BANK: The versatile five-piece cover band Pez Head visits the Walt Street Pub for an invigorating Friday night set. The show pops at 8 p.m. 180 Monmouth Street.
RED BANK: Jazz pianist and pocalist Champian Fulton visits the Summer Jazz Café at Two River Theatre, presented by Jazz Arts Project. The series promises a big city club vibe with coffee and refreshments. The show begins at 8 p.m. and tickets are $22. 21 Bridge Avenue.
RED BANK: Con man Harold Hill tricks the small town of River City, Iowa in the musical comedy “The Music Man” at the Count Basie Theatre. The 8 p.m. show is presented by Phoenix Productions;tickets are $22, $26, $32. 99 Monmouth Street.
RED BANK: Amy Novak leads a relaxing Friday afternoon yoga session from 1 to 2 p.m. at Red Bank Public Library. The class is free and no registration is required. Bring your own mat. 84 West Front Street.
Saturday, July 20:
MIDDLETOWN: Comic book collectors and unite at Middletown Public Library for the second annual Comic Con. The live feed of the Comic-Con International in San Diego will save you plane fare. Activities include superhero crafts, comic book giveaways and the chance to create your own comic. Costumes are expected and encouraged. Comic Con begins at 12 p.m. 55 New Monmouth Road.
RED BANK: Goodbie Amy, a high-energy rock cover band, stops by the Walt Street Pub for some hula-hooping, bar-top dancing and fun, up-beat music. The show begins at 8 p.m. 180 Monmouth Street.
RED BANK: Red Bank Public Library’s local history librarian Elizabeth McDermott hosts “Collage Klatch,” a free monthly session open to those interested in the art of collage. No registration is necessary; pick up supplies prior to the session. Collage Klatch runs from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. 84 West Front Street.
RED BANK: The First Baptist Church of Red Bank hosts “Music for Haiti,” a benefit concert featuring Crossroads Mission Band, a frequent participant in fundraisers for the nonprofit Atkins International Youth Foundation. The show boasts old time gospel, contemporary praise music and familiar hymns. The free concert begins at 7 p.m. and all donations go toward AIYF’s construction of a new emergency medical facility in northeast Haiti. 84 Maple Avenue.
RED BANK: Soul Project, a displaced New Orleans based Jazz band, visits Jamian’s Food & Drink for a soulful Saturday night set, starting at 8 p.m. 79 Monmouth Street.
Sunday, July 21:
RED BANK: The weekly Farmers Market lays out its super fresh goods at the Galleria Red Bank. Located in the parking lot, the market features locally grown produce as well as special crafts and eateries. The market runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays until mid-November. Corner of Bridge Ave & West Front Street.
