Friday, July 5:
RED BANK: The Josh Zuckerman Band stops by the Walt Street Pub for an energetic Friday night set. The show beings at 8 p.m. 180 Monmouth Street.
RED BANK: Blues rock guitarist Matt O’Ree and band perform at Jamians Food & Drink. The show begins at 8 p.m. 79 Monmouth Street.
SHREWSBURY: Monmouth County Eastern Branch Library hosts a discussion on Treasures of the Monmouth County Parks, including an update on the status of the park system post-Hurricane Sandy for this edition of First Friday for Seniors. The discussion begins at 11 a.m. 1001 Route 35 North.
RED BANK: Relax and de-stress at the free yoga session at Red Bank Public Library. No registration is required; bring your own mat. The yoga session runs from 1 to 2 p.m. 84 West Front Street.
Saturday, July 6:
FAIR HAVEN: Race to the Fair Haven Mayor’s Cup to see sailing clubs from Fair Haven, Oceanport, Red Bank and other nearby towns compete on the Navesink for the Mayor’s Trophy. A barbeque follows at the Shrewsbury River Yacht Club. The race begins at 10 a.m.
RED BANK: The Count Basie Theatre hosts chef Victor Rallo, Red Bank’s own author, chef, wine expert and owner of Undici Taverna Rustica and Basil T’s Brewery. The multitalented Rallo adds “television host” to his résumé as the Basie premiers the first episode of the PBS series “EAT! DRINK! ITALY!” This is a fundraising event for Count Basie’s Performing Arts Academy. Burlap to Cashmere also gives a special performance, playing their first area gig in 10 years. Art of Play is set to open, featuring Eli Rallo. Tickets are $15, and the show begins at 6 p.m. 99 Monmouth Street.
SHREWSBURY: Shore Flicks brings “Madagascar 3” to the big screen at Shrewsbury Borough Hall. Bring blankets, chairs and nonperishable food items to donate to local food pantries. The movie begins around 8:15 p.m. Check Shore Flicks’ Facebook and Twitter for weather cancellations and updates. Broad Street/Route 35 and Sycamore Avenue.
RED BANK: New Jersey Rocks member Bob Burger plays the Walt Street Pub. The show begins at 8 p.m. 180 Monmouth Street.
RED BANK: The sidewalks and storefronts of the business district turn into a maze of music for the 13th season of Red Bank StreetLife. Stroll through town and listen to some free local music showcases, performers and locations to be announced. This week, and again on August 3, live art demos will also be featured. StreetLife runs from 6 to 9 p.m.
MIDDLETOWN: Brush up on your bilingual skills at the conversational French study group held at the Middletown Main Library. No registration is necessary and the session begins at 11 a.m. 55 New Monmouth Road.
Sunday, July 7:
RED BANK: Sing it out at Open Mic with Rob Dye and Mike Ghegan. Jamian’s Food & Drink is the place to find musicians, new ideas, classic covers, and a relaxed hangout spot. Open Mic runs from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. 79 Monmouth Street.
RED BANK: The Galleria Red Bank Farmers Market presents fresh produce from local farms and highlights area eateries and unique crafts. Support the local agriculture and crafts community. The market runs every Sunday through November from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Corner of Shrewsbury Avenue and West Front Street.
RED BANK: Round out the holiday weekend with the 25th annual Liberty Extravaganza concert at the First Presbyterian Church at Tower Hill. The playlist consists of all things patriotic, as well as gospel songs and audience sing-a-longs with the Liberty Choir. Prior to the concert will be a strawberry festival, children’s fair, color guard and raising of the flag. The Hot Taters open with a jazz, Dixieland and swing set. Donations will be accepted and a portion of the proceeds will be given to Operation PENCIL, a charity run by servicemen and women that offers school supplies for children in Afghanistan. The Liberty Extravaganza concert beings at 7:30 p.m. 255 Harding Road.
